Näyttely / Exhibition 2017

Sarja käsittelee oman ja yhteisen, maaseudun ja urbaanin sekä yksityisen ja yhteisen tilan välisiä rajapintoja. Olen kuvannut aihetta Suomessa ja Virossa.
Työssäni on kaksi keskeistä sisällöllistä teemaa. Tuon esille villin tilan, rakentamattoman luonnon ja luovuuden merkityksellisyyttä yksilöille ja kaupunkikulttuurille. Toisena teemana pohdin maan ja isänmaan käsitteiden suhdetta. Kaupunkiviljelyksillä ja kesämajoissa näkyy, kuinka maa (multa) on paikka jonne voi juurtua, vaikka isänmaa olisi toisaalla.

A small paradise

This series explores the interface between what we own and what is shared, between the countryside and the urban, between private space and common ground. I have been photographing around the theme in Finland and in Estonia.
There are two central themes to my work. I want to bring forth the importance of a wild space, of unconfined nature and of creativity to individuals and urban culture. My second theme is the relationship between the concepts of earth and home country. In small city plantations and summer huts it becomes clear how you can get rooted into earth, even though your home country would be elsewhere.
